What a Difference a Year Makes!

This was the backyard last year at this time! We had over a foot of snow on the ground and icy temperatures.  This year we have had not more than a stray flurry since a weird storm in October and it is already January.  The temperatures have been for the most part in the 40's and 50's.  I keep thinking we are in for a biggie soon, but it just doesn't seem to be in our future ( for the next week anyway).  I guess I should be grateful, but I do love seeing the snow on the ground. I love sitting at the kitchen table and looking out across the river and seeing the Canadian geese with a snowy backdrop.  I love the bright red of the cardinals against the pure white getting their seeds from the feeders.  Hubby and I are thinking about taking a ride out to a an antique/prim shop we have never been to before this weekend.  It's about an hour drive, but since the weather is so favorable, I figure we might as well do it while we can.  I hope you have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Nadine

  3. I hope you get your snow but I am happy with no snow here. I agree it's pretty and the earth seems so clean and pure. I still think I will pass. Love the picture from last year.

  5. Hi Nadine, The weather here in our neck of the woods in Michigan is about the same. We are wondering where all of our snow is and if it might start falling at Easter time. Take care, Janice

  8. I know I can't believe how no storms seems to be hitting much of anywhere. We have been so warm here like summer. Today was finally cooler only in the 60s. I am yearning for rain.

  9. I remember last year we were all posting about all the snow everyone kept getting! This year it's just the opposite. Unbelievable, but I'm enjoying the dry driving conditions. Winter isn't over yet though.

  10. Yep, that's the way it's been here in Oklahoma. We've been up in the 50's and 60's and even hit 72 one day last week... definitely not January weather. We've not even had a snow at all. But, yet, I'm sure we'll get a biggie soon.

Hope you were able to make it to the antique shop this weekend. Sounds like a fun time.

Blessings to you from Berry Homespun Primitives~
